Artist statement
Since I can remember I wanted to create art. My art isn’t limited to one discipline or medium, rather I create with whatever is moving me at that moment in time. From painting to sculpting to designing my own lighting and furniture, to cooking a beautiful meal for dear friends all of this is art to me. All of it creates beauty in my world and I in turn hope it creates beauty for others.
Nature is my truest friend, and my Bubbie was my greatest teacher. Watching her create art in all areas of her life inspired me to do the same.
My paintings are often mixed media, oil, charcoal, pencil, watercolor, plasters and other textural mediums. I aim to create movement and texture in my paintings; they are abstract interpretations of the world that surrounds us.
I create to evoke peace and reflection, not to make the viewer feel isolated from the body of work but rather to feel a part of the work, to find solace in the beauty that surrounds us and to embrace the profound that arises from this communion.
